Mother's Day is this weekend. What better way to show your mom some love than by making some tasty biscuits and gravy! All you need is Frankie's Breakfast Sausage and some homemade biscuits. There are 2 secrets to making awesome biscuits, 1) Frankie's Pork Lard 2) do not overwork the dough.
Here's our favorite recipe from the Betty Crocker Cookbook for the perfect biscuit.
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
3 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup Frankie's Pork Lard
3/4 cup milk
Heat oven to 400 degrees.
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Cut in the lard crisscrossing using 2 knives or pastry blender until fine crumbs form. Then stir in the milk until dough leaves side of bowl.
Place dough on floured surface and knead about 10X lightly. Use a round cutter in your desired size and place biscuits on an ungreased cookie sheet 1 inch apart.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
